The Associated Student Body Government of Allan Hancock College will strive to:
- Represent the needs, interests, and perspectives of AHC students at every level of
decision making within the college, to regional and state organizations, and nationally
as necessary and appropriate to promote and encourage student success;
- Provide students with opportunities to engage in learning and leadership, as well
as governing processes and parliamentary procedure;
- Support a vibrant student life on campus consisting of extracurricular activities
and events that encourage cultural diversity, unity, and college pride in order to
enhance the general welfare and academic success of AHC students.
President: Frankie Maldonaldo -
Frankie is a first generation college student who graduated from Nipomo High School. He
is a full-time student currently working towards his Associate's Degree for Transfer
in Psychology. He plans on transferring to a California State University to pursue
his career goal in becoming a therapist. Through his active participation in the Associated
Student Body Government he received the President's Volunteer Service award from the
White House by completing over 250 hours volunteering at AHC and in the community.
He is currently working at AHC as a Student Ambassador. Outside of his classes, work,
and leadership roles, he enjoys playing card games,photography, going to the beach,
and spending valuable time with his family and friends.
Executive Vice President: Vanessa Magana Marin - Vanessa is a full-time Freshman at Allan Hancock College. Her career goal is to work
in the Arts and Humanities fields. She plans to stay local on the central coast with
her transfer preferences being Cal Poly San Luis Obispo or UCSB where she wants to
earn a bachelor's degree. She previously served on the Associated Student Body Government
board of directors as the Director of Public Relations, and was recently elected Vice
President on the ASBG board for 2018-2019. She is also actively involved in the Dream
Club where she also serves as Vice President for the club. She is a passionate person
who likes to do her best to improve in any area she can to support students.
Student Trustee: Inri Serrano
Inri is majoring in Buisness Administration at Allan Hancock College and plans to
transfer to UC Berkely to finish his bachelor's degree. He hopes to become a CEO of
company in the future. Inri is a member of the honor society Alpha Gamma Sigma and
is also a member of the Dream Club. He wants to help create a reliable and safe campus,
and also ensure that students know the resources the college has to offer. He believes
that every student should have the ability to reach their highest potential at Hancock
and hopes that he can share the outstanding things the school has to offer in the
community and to future bulldogs.
Executive Director: Heidi Mendiola
Heidi is majoring in sociology with plans of transferring to a four-year university
to study criminal justice. She is currently serving on the Associated Student Body
Government Board as the Executive Director. Heidi is very grateful for opportunity
to sit on Academic Senate and Student Service Council as the ASBG student representative
in hopes of helping college students succeed and being able to make a positive change
on campus. Heidi is caring, outgoing, and ambitious. In her sphere time she enjoys
spending time with her family, hiking, and going to the movies.
Executive Secretary: Adrian Garcia -
Adrian is a first generation college student, who was born in Santa Maria, California
and a Santa Maria High School graduate. Adrian is majoring in Culinology and plans
on attending the French Pastry School in Chicago, Illinois in hopes of one day opening
a bakery. Adrian currently serves on the Associated Student Body Government Board
of Directors as the Secretary. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends listening
to music, and eating with good people. He has a passion for baking, making pastries
for his friends and family.
Vice President of Finance: Veronica Gonzalez
Veronica Gonzalez is a first generation college student in her family. She graduated
from Pioneer VAlley High School in 2015. She is currently attending Allan Hancock
College as a parent time student; her major is Viticulture Enology. Her college goals
are to graduate with an Associate's Degree is Science, Math, and Agriculture. She
also plans to transfer to a four year un9iversity either to Cal Poly or UC Davis.
She is also very involved in her leadership class and is currently the Vice President
of Finance on the ASBG board.
Vice President of External Affairs: Carla Zamora -
Hello fellow Bulldogs! Carla is both excited and honored to be serving on the ASBG
as the Vice President of External Affairs. Carla is a third-year student majoring
in nursing, she is also involved in different associations such as EOPS and Alpha
Gamma Sigma and she feels it will give her more opportunities to understand student's
needs! Carla is originally from the Lompoc campus but has spent the last two years
in the Santa Maria campus. Her goal within the next school year is to increase student
activity at the Lompoc, Vandenberg, and Santa Ynez campuses. She would like to have
the same school spirit and welcoming atmosphere at all campuses. Carla looks forward
to advocating for all students.
Director of Student Organizations: Derek Orlick -
Derek is a part- time college student and full - time employee for the Santa Maria
Bonita School District. As a architectural drafting student he is finishing both his
Associates in Science Degree and Certificate of Accomplishment. Derek is concurrently
the Treasurer for Allan Hancock Colleges chapter of the American Institute of Architecture
Students, and the Secretary for a non-profit alumni association. He has an affinity
for the outdoors and for the industrial arts.
Director of Academic Affairs: Jessica Zarate -
Jessica Zarate was born in Oaxaca Tlaxaico Mexico. She was brought from Mexico at
an early age and was raised in Santa Maria, California. Jessica is a second year college
student majoring in psychology. Jessica is very out going, kind, and loves to help
in anyway possible. Jessica is currently working as a Student Ambassador for AHC and
is President of the Dream Club. She says she joined the leadership class and ASBG
to get more involved because she wasn't really involved in high school.
Director of Public Relations: Kevin Eckhardt -
Kevin is a second year fulltime student majoring in Culinology. He considers it a
great honor to serve on the ASBG Board of Directors and will strive to do his best
to help in positive and productive way that benefits Allan Hancock College. He loves
working with people (face-to-face social networking) and has always been imaginative,
artistic, and creative. He is currently a student employee at AHC working with the
Makerspace program. He is also an active member of Nutrition and Wellness Club, Men's
Support Group, and is a regular volunteer for the Food Share Because We Care program.
Director of Student Advocacy: Maximillian Riederer
Director of Campus Environment: Azhane Griggs -
Azhane was born and raised in Lompoc, California. She graduated from Lompoc High School
in 2016. Azhane currently serves on the Associated Student Body Government Director
of Campus Environment, and a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She is
grateful for the various opportunities being a student at Allan Hancock College has
given her. She is motivated to make a positive impact during her time at Allan Hancock
College. Today she continues to pursue her degree in Business Management.
Director of Legislative Affairs: Czharine Asuncion -
Czharine Joy Asuncion is a current full-time student at Allan Hancock College where
she is majoring in Business Administration. She was born in the Philippines before
immigrating to Santa Maria, California; Czharine is grateful to serve on the Associated
Student Body Government as Director of Legislative Affairs. She plans to transfer
to a California State University to pursue a degree in Accounting. Outside of classes,
she enjoys photography, playing board games with friends, and exercising.
Director of Student Outreach: Jose Martin -
Jose was born in Bakersfield and raised in Snata Maria. He graduated from Santa Maria
High School in 2015. Jose is a Film Major and plans on transferring to a 4-year university
to obtain a Bachelor's degree. Jose is the youngest of four and also a first generation
college student. As an Ambassador, Jose plans on helping students get involved on
their campus, and also help others pursue a higher education and better themselves.
Jose has been a part of the College Achievement Now (CAN) program and has been the
historian for the CAN club. He has also been involved with the Gamers Guild in Lompoc,
the Paintball club, and the DREAM club. During Jose's free time he likes going on
hikes with friends, playing videogames, going on field trips, and taking pictures
& editing them. He also volunteers within his community with the Future Leaders of
America (FLA) and CAUSE.
Director of Student Outreach: Angelica Hernandez -
Angelica is a first generation college student and she graduated from Olive Grove
Charter school. She is a full-time student at Hancock majoring in Photography. She
is planning on getting her AS degree and then start her career in photography. She
says she joined the leadership class and ASBG to bring her out of her shell, because
she was very shy in high school. She loves spending time with her family and friends.
She also enjoys listening to music in her free time and having a good time with the
people she cares about.
