Extended Campus

The Extended Campus comprises all of the district’s satellite campuses and several off-campus educational programs. Campus sites include the Lompoc Valley Center, the Santa Ynez Valley Center, and the Vandenberg Air Force Base Center. Educational programs include credit and contract education programs at the Federal Correctional Complex in Lompoc; those housed within the Public Safety Training Complex at the Lompoc Valley Center; Specialized and Customized Training (Contract Education) for industry; and some K-12 partnership elements, specifically concurrent enrollment. Noncredit community education classes are offered at each campus site. The Extended Campus is also a partner in several local, regional, and state economic and workforce development efforts and hosts the Deputy Sector Navigator for Agricultural, Water and Environmental Technology through the Doing What Matters for Jobs and Economy initiative of California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.

The Extended Campus includes the Public Safety Department that is housed within the Public Safety Training Complex at the Lompoc Valley Center. Programs within the Public Safety Department include Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Law Enforcement Training, and Wildland Technology. The Extended Campus also manages the federal prison programs at the Federal Correctional Complex in Lompoc, including degree, certificate, and contract education programs within the United States Penitentiary, the Federal Correctional Institution, and the Camps. It also coordinates specialized and customized training for business, industry, and public and private agencies through its contract education efforts.
